Unit 1: Interactions This week our class will be learning about community helpers and the instruments they need to do their job. Students will learn to identify and use the present and past tense of regular and irregular verbs. We will also be learning about the verb "to be" and how it changes with the subject.
Features of the CalendarThis week we are practicing the features of our calendar. We are studying the days of the weekdays of the week and months of the year. Students practice asking and answering questions about important days, such as their birthday, holidays, etc. They will practice using capital letter to write the days of the week and months of the year. Students will also learn and practice writing a complete day, using correct day, month, number of day and year. There will be a quiz on Friday about features of the calendar. Calendar Poem 30 days has September, April, June, and November. All the rest have 31, except February is great with 28. And in leap years, February is fine with 29. During this first week of school students will be learning about the Positive Behavior Intervention and Support plan for our school. Students and staff East Cobb Middle School adhere to high expectations of positive behavior that will ensure success in our daily life. Each day of this week we will be focusing on behavior expectations for our school as follows: Monday- Hallway Procedures Tuesday- Arriving to School Wednesday- Dismissing from School Thursday- Bathroom and Cafeteria Friday- Office Procedures and Assemblies Welcome Unit: Ready, Set, Go! In order to get to know each other better, this week our class will engage in different activities that will help students learn and share personal information and basic skills and routines.
