My Favorite Sport!This week students at our school will be having their grade level Field Day. They will be experiencing a variety of sports related team-building competitions and having an entire day of fun with their teachers and classmates. Students in our class will be completing an individual project, as they review the language, about their favorite sport. Students will also collect, graph and present data about their classmates favorite sports. This project will be due Thursday for 8th grade and Friday for 6th and 7th grade. Activities for this Week:
Lunch on the Lawn Monday May 14th- 6th and 7th Grade- Pick up your lunch and eat on the field. Students may bring a towel or small blanket to sit on. Field Day Dates Wednesday May 16th- 6th Grade Thursday May 17th-7th Grade Friday May 18th-8th Grade Setting, Characters and PlotThis week students will be learning about how a particular story's or drama's plot unfolds in a series of episodes as well as how the characters respond or change as the plot moves toward a resolution. Students will watch The Goonies to analyze how particular elements of a story or drama interact, how the setting shapes the characters or plot. Vocabulary for this week:
Milestones Testing ResourcesThis week students will be taking the Milestones Assessments. The purpose of the Georgia Student Assessment Program is to measure student achievement of the state-adopted content standards and inform efforts to improve teaching and learning. Results of the assessment program are utilized to provide educators with feedback about instructional practice, and to assist school districts in identifying strengths and weaknesses in order to establish priorities in planning educational programs.
