Holiday Foods from the World
Developing Healthy Food HabitsMonday- Our class will meet in the Exploration Lab. We are scheduled to take the Mid-year Reading Inventory. The Reading Comprehension Assessment is used to assess and monitor students’ growth in reading comprehension. The assessment includes nearly six thousand test items for students at all levels. Each item consists of a passage, a sentence stem, and four answer choices. Each passage includes texts that students encounter both in and out of school and are drawn from a variety of content areas. Questions assess students’ comprehension skills as applied to the passages. Reading Comprehension Assessment results indicate students’ reading levels on the Lexile Frameworks for Reading Scale. Tuesday through Friday, we will be learning about developing healthy food habits. Students will complete their Food Vocabulary Brochure and practice om a series of activities that include thinking maps, short stories, poems, etc. for students to develop skills necessary for the academic content on this topic. Food and NutritionWe hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving break! During the next several weeks our class will embrace in one of our favorite unit topics: Food and Nutrition.
