Utopian Ideals and Dystopian RealityWhat would the world be like if everyone in our society were the same—average in intelligence, talents, appearance, and strength— and no one was better than anyone else? How do you think people would feel and act toward each other? Would they be happy and satisfied? This week, students will be reading the short story "Harrison Bergeron," by Kurt Vonnegut. As we read and discuss the story, students will take notes, focus on evidence from text to support their claims and provide interpretations to quotes from the story.
