Week of March 19 through March 23

3/18/2018

Extinct Animals and Vulnerable Species

PictureExtinct Animals: Do you miss them?

This weeks our students will be learning about extinct and vulnerable animal species.  We will be using a tree map to classify and provide examples of animals according to their status in the endangered animal list.

Students will also read an article about an animal classified as vulnerable and completing a comprehension exercise about the article.  Students will be reviewing and practicing answering questions in complete sentences.

On Wednesday, students will visit the computer lab to conduct research about two extinct animals of their choice.  They will use this information to compare and contrast the animals, using fact cards and a double bubble map.

On Thursday, students in our class will be completing a scavenger hunt exercise to review information gained during the Endangered Species unit .  They will use the scavenger hunt as a study guide for the unit test on Friday.
